Here we are partaking in the morning chalk display you will see outside this afternoon for the ceremony!
Here is a little sneak peak of the fun we had today! I will post more photos another night this week. We truly had a great trip. I am sure many of you are having requests for apple pie as that seemed to be what many of my students wanted to do with their apples! 🍎 Today we made applesauce in class! Not only did our room smell great, it was fun to see the apple slices change and if students wanted cinnamon or not. Most of them also agreed that it was better than store bought! We did not add anything but apples and a little water as our apples were so sweet! We tried 5 different apples today! - Red delicious - Golden delicious - Fuji - Honey Crisp - Grannysmith We began our Apple theme this week and will continue next week! We started by listing everything we know about apples and then wrote everything we are wondering about apples. At the end of our unit we will see if we can answer our questions and see what we have learned. We spent some time this week with the book above! With the many activities that we did, it was a great review week of the alphabet uppercase letters! We talked about how are words are like toothpaste! Once you say a hurtful word, you can't take it completely back. Once you squeeze out the whole tube of toothpaste, it is impossible to get it all back in. We can use our words for encouraging everyday! We are making it our goal! We read the book "Q is for Duck" today! This book was a guessing game as we read to figure out why each letter went with a picture. After reading, our pictures were on the smart board and we had to figure out what letter was for each friend in our room! We had our first math centers today! 6 stations were rotated through with 3 friends in each group. My friends really enjoyed being able to get their hands moving! |
