We spent our last day before Christmas break having a party! We did many different activities that went along with the theme. The Shepherd on the Shelf brought our last Nativity piece, the presents arrived for each student (a book by the Beginner's Bible: The Very First Christmas) and we played many games! It was concluded by our room mom's coming in with snowman rice krispy treats and juice & relay games/puzzles!
Today we were brought a candy cane by the Shepherd on the Shelf! He also brought with him the story behind the candy cane. J is for Jesus who died on the cross Red stripes for when Jesus suffered and died on the cross White if for our sins that were washed away because of Jesus' birth We used candy canes for measurement as a math activity as well! We sang our Christmas Program songs for the people at Crown Pointe! We sang a few extra songs as well and our favorite was Jingle Bells because we could ring actual bells!
We took the bus over to BJ Haan Auditorium and practiced for our TK-4th grade program! They did a super job with their singing and actions! They are ready for tonight :)
During math we used large and mini marshmallows to measure! It gave us our favorite kind of math, Tasty Math! We had a great afternoon celebrating with musical chairs, a drawing game called cootie, and eating cake! These children are the best gift of the day! I am blessed!
